Internet Marketing Ethics for Successful Online Business

The ability to remain ubiquitous and hidden carries its own set of pros and cons. While the anonymity offered by the Internet has provided us some security, it has also posed certain challenges for all of us. We often come across terms such as Internet trolling and cyber bullying. These terms are related to individuals who exploit the Internet?s anonymity to offend other users.

?

Business ethics and etiquette have been an area of great concern in the online business domain, particularly in the Internet Marketing. The issue is further taken up seriously by companies who value their goodwill. Unfortunately, some online marketers relentlessly devise malicious marketing tactics, in anticipation of exponential returns.

?

But, as a matter of fact, none of these devious plans trigger uninterrupted flow of cash. However, they do draw flak from irked Internet users, as majority of users understand the difference between aggressive marketing and fraudulent marketing.

?

Devious Internet marketing ethics could be in various forms. For instance, one of the tactics is to provide inaccurate representation of a company?s product or service. Marketers in growing numbers are using this tactic to exaggerate their products. Unaware browsers are victims of such unethical business practice. Other widely used unethical campaigns include phony dialogue boxes, pop-up ads and pop-unders.

Fake dialogue boxes are loaded with a simple yes or no question, which has nothing to do with our general knowledge. Either of the responses simply takes the user to marketer?s website. The worst part is when a hacker use dialogue box to install malicious software in our system, to collect all of our personal data pertaining to our buying behavior.? ??????

Unsurprisingly the fraudulent marketing is not going to end. But, we can always refrain from applying any of these ethical tactics. Goodwill earned as an ethical player goes a long way in supporting our business.
