I'd like to reserve a spot, then promptly rush off to brush up on my knowledge of the Qun. Everyone can use a female Bas Saarebas, yeah?

Edit: What are we looking at experience-wise towards starting? Just realized I'm going to have to plan spells a little carefully. Which brings up the questions, will specialization classes be playing a part? I can't think of anything more fear-inducing than a pissed of Qunari Arcane Warrior Blood Mage.

I like Vanships. And flying cruise ships with massive diesel engines. Steam is cool and all, but diesel.

Characters can start specializations though they can't be too skilled at it. Of course a blood mage would have plenty of opportunities to improve her/his abilities on un-expecting bandits.

Or Darkspawn -cough-Avernus-cough-. Might be fun to play with the taint. Woo, off to a good start. Now to not be lazy and actually do a profile..

Oh good a blood mage with a period the jokes are going to be horrendous at least once

So just be sure, we're not going say, in-game spell by in-game spell? Just generalized magic-ness, aye?

yeah, just explain what is happening with the spell. no one likes being confined by the original game's abilities.

(AP) ? When it comes to electing the president, not all votes are created equal. And chances are yours will count less than those of a select few.

For example, the vote of Dave Smith in Sheridan, Wyo., counts almost three-and-a-half times as much mathematically as those of his wife's aunts in northeastern Ohio.

Why? Electoral College math.

A statistical analysis of the state-by-state voting-eligible population by The Associated Press shows that Wyoming has 139,000 eligible voters ? those 18 and over, U.S. citizens and non-felons ? for every presidential elector chosen in the state. In Ohio, it's almost 476,000 per elector, and it's nearly 478,000 in neighboring Pennsylvania.

But there's mathematical weight and then there's the reality of political power in a system where the president is decided not by the national popular vote but by an 18th century political compromise: the Electoral College.

Smith figures his vote in solid Republican Wyoming really doesn't count that much because it's a sure Mitt Romney state. The same could be said for ballots cast in solid Democratic states like New York or Vermont. In Ohio, one of the biggest battleground states, Smith's relatives are bombarded with political ads. In Wyoming, Smith says, "The candidates don't care about my vote because we only see election commercials from out-of-state TV stations."

The nine battleground states where Romney and Barack Obama are spending a lot of time and money ? Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, North Carolina and Wisconsin ? have 44.1 million people eligible to vote. That's only 20.7 percent of the nation's 212.6 million eligible voters. So nearly four of five eligible voters are pretty much being ignored by the two campaigns.

When you combine voter-to-elector comparisons and battleground state populations, there are clear winners and losers in the upcoming election.

More than half the nation's eligible voters live in states that are losers in both categories. Their states are not closely contested and have above-average ratios of voters to electors. This is true for people in 14 states with 51 percent of the nation's eligible voters: California, New York, Texas, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Maryland, Louisiana and Kentucky. Their votes count the least.

The biggest winners in the system, those whose votes count the most, live in just four states: Colorado, New Hampshire, Iowa and Nevada. They have low voter-to-elector ratios and are in battleground states. Only 4 percent of the nation's eligible voters ? 1 in 25 ? live in those states.

It's all dictated by the U.S. Constitution, which set up the Electoral College. The number of electors each state gets depends on the size of its congressional delegation. Even the least populated states ? like Wyoming ? get a minimum of three, meaning more crowded states get less proportionally.

If the nation's Electoral College votes were apportioned in a strict one-person, one-vote manner, each state would get one elector for every 395,000 eligible voters. Some 156 million voters live in the 20 states that have a larger ratio than that average: That's 73 percent ? nearly three out of four.

And for most people, it's even more unrepresentative. About 58 percent of the nation's eligible voting population lives in states with voter-to-elector ratios three times as large as Wyoming's. In other words, Dave Smith's voting power is about equal to three of his wife's aunts and uncles in Ohio, and most people in the nation are on the aunt-and-uncle side of that unbalanced equation.

"It's a terrible system; it's the most undemocratic way of electing a chief executive in the world, " said Paul Finkelman, a law professor at Albany Law School who teaches this year at Duke University. "There's no other electoral system in the world where the person with the most votes doesn't win."

The statistical analysis uses voter eligibility figures for 2010 calculated by political science professor Michael McDonald at George Mason University. McDonald is a leader in the field of voter turnout.

Former Sen. Alan Simpson of Wyoming defends the Electoral College system for protecting small states in elections, which otherwise might be overrun by big city campaigning: "Once you get rid of the Electoral College, the election will be conducted in New York and San Francisco."

Sure it gives small states more power, but at what price? asks Douglas Amy, a political science professor at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts: "This clearly violates that basic democratic principle of one person, one vote. Indeed, many constitutional scholars point out that this unfair arrangement would almost certainly be declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court on those grounds if it were not actually in the Constitution."

Article 2 of the Constitution says presidents are voted on by electors (it doesn't mention the word college) with each state having a number equal to its U.S. senators and representatives. While representatives are allocated among the states proportional by population, senators are not. Every state gets two. So Wyoming has 0.2 percent of the nation's voting-eligible population but almost 0.6 percent of the Electoral College. And since the number of electors is limited to 538, some states get less proportionately.

Adding to this, most states have an all-or-nothing approach to the Electoral College. A candidate can win a state by just a handful of votes but get all the electors. That happened in 2000, when George W. Bush, after much dispute, won Florida by 537 votes out of about 6 million and got all 27 electoral votes. He won the presidential election but lost the national popular vote that year.

That election led some states to sign a compact promising to give their electoral votes to the national popular vote winner. But that compact would go into effect only if and when states with the 270 majority of electoral votes signed on. So far nine states with 132 electoral votes have signed, all predominantly Democratic states.

Because of the 2000 election, conservatives and Republicans tend to feel that changing the Electoral College would hurt them, George Mason's McDonald said, and after their big victories in 2010, the popular vote compact movement stalled. But that analysis may not necessarily be true, he added. McDonald said before recent opinion polls started to break for Obama there seemed to be a possibility that he could win the electoral vote and lose the popular vote because of weak turnout ? but still enough to win ? in traditionally Democratic states like New York and California.

Former Stanford University computer scientist John Koza, who heads National Popular Vote, which is behind the electoral reform compact, said Democrat John Kerry would have won the Electoral College in 2004 while Republican Bush won the popular vote, if only 60,000 Bush votes in Ohio had changed to Kerry votes.

History shows that candidates have won the presidency but not the popular vote four times, and in each case it was the Democrat who got the most votes but lost the presidency: 1824, 1876, 1888 and 2000.

The Associated Press analysis suggests that in this year's election, the current system seems to benefit Romney. The AP re-apportioned electoral votes based on voting-eligible population and not congressional delegations, so that, for example, Wyoming and the District of Columbia would have only one elector instead of three, and California would have 58 instead of 55.

Based on polling, states strongly in the Romney camp have 191 electoral votes in the current system but would have only 178 if the electoral votes were allocated based on voting-eligible population. Based on similar polling, Obama would benefit by about five electoral votes if electors were apportioned by that population. The nine battleground states would gain even more sway, jumping from 110 electoral votes to 118.

That would compound the perceived problem of a shrinking number of battleground states being all that mattered in the election, leaving the overwhelming majority of states standing around as "spectator states," Koza said.

John McGinnis, a professor of constitutional law at Northwestern University, defends the current Electoral College, arguing that while the mathematics of electoral proportionate calculations is correct, the conclusion that it over-represents small states is not. Larger states still have more sway because they have more electoral votes, he said.

Further, the historical agreement to give each state two senators regardless of their population and to base electoral votes on congressional delegation rather than population "was an essential compromise" when framers were drafting the Constitution, McGinnis said. Without that compromise, there might not have been a Constitution or nation, he said.

But Finkelman said his reading of history is that the compromise wasn't about power between small and large states as much as it was about power of slave-holding states. He said James Madison wanted direct popular election of the president, but because African-American slaves wouldn't count, that would give more power to the North. So the framers came up with a compromise to count each slave as 3/5ths of a person for representation in Congress and presidential elections, he said.

Electoral College supporter McGinnis said the emphasis on battleground states is actually good because they are representative of the country. But he acknowledges as an Illinois resident, "I realize when I vote here it's completely irrelevant."

Pumpkin Parade Lives On

Pumpkin Parade Lives OnImage via Jaaarel on Flickr

Halloween season began with a fright after it was announced Thursday that the annual?Pumpkin Parades were in danger of cancellation. Fortunately, the parade will live on after a meeting between City of Toronto bureaucrats resulted in a pumpkin removal plan.

The City of Toronto will place pumpkin pick-up bins around the permitted pumpkin parade parks. This way, during and after the parade, pumpkins can be neatly discarded.?

Concern has been raised about pumpkins coming and going instead of all being lined up simultaneously. However, this is the city's solution to an otherwise cancelled event. It is also an attempt, on the city's behalf, to encourage a permit system because parks who have not applied for permits will not receive bins.

Permits can be obtained by calling 311.?

Get To Know The 4 Technologies That Can Help You Overcome ...

Dental phobia is not the reserve of children only. Many adults fear a visit to the dentist though they will not wail about it. Many do not even know (or do not want to admit) they are afraid of the dentist. If you find yourself making an excuse any time you have an appointment, then you may have a case of mild dental phobia. Severe cases include literal fear at the thought of a dentist appointment, shaking, running away when at the dentist?s office and whimpering during the procedure.

104/365: I love the dentist.

Fear of the dentist arises from several factors, top on the list being the uncertainty of what is happening in your mouth, the pain of the injection and the motor noises from various dentist instruments. Having such fear mild or intense is nothing to be embarrassed about neither is it unusual. Nevertheless you still need to visit the dentist for good dental hygiene and more so when you have a dental problem.

Learn about these 4 nifty technological devices that make your trip to the dentist pain and fear free!

1.?????? The Magic STA wand

For those who do not like the sight of a needle or the thought of it in your mouth, you will love this STA and Compudent wand. The injection you get at the dentists is meant to numb your nerves and allow the dentist to work on your mouth without you feeling any pain.

Say Ahh

However, one still feels a certain sting when the needle is inserted. This sting is due to the drastic intake of anesthesia. This wand therefore is a computer controlled dental injection meaning that you will feel nothing. It eliminates the human error that causes the sting. It is beneficial for both dentist and patient because it is light to hold, does not look like a syringe and pain free.

2.?????? The iPod

Nothing calms the mind more than music. It is leaving surgery theatres and finding its way into the dentist?s chambers. You can carry your own music to the dentists for a calming experience. Alternatively as a dentist, you can get an Mp3 player or iPod for your office. Allow patients to select music of their choice. The music helps to drown out the noises from the machines and instruments you will use. Manufactures know this secret; they are creating devices that contain music with specific frequencies. These drown out the motor noises whilst allowing for communication between dentist and patient.

3.?????? Air Abrasion

It is important to get plaque removed by your dentist as not all gets off through brushing. The drilling process can be quite a scare for many with all the vibrating sounds and slight heat in the mouth. Air abrasion gets rid of both making it a smooth experience for you.

Air abrasion technology makes use of gentle but highly pressures air. This may contain some powder or water to enhance the process. When this stream of powder and compressed air hits the surface of your tooth, it rids of the surface material in this case plaque. The mention of pressurized air should not scare you. It is gentle but firm so it will not hurt even if your tongue got in the path of this stream. It is perfect for kids; it is fast, easy and pain free.

4.?????? Numbing Gel

This gel does not necessarily fall into the technology category but is highly effective in ensuring you feel no pain during the whole procedure. The gel is applied to the surface of your gums n the general region that he needle will be inserted. Some dentist may not use this gel so do not hesitate to ask for it. Rumors abound that this gel does not work. The gel works perfectly if left on the surface for about one minute, not more or less.

MEDREACH 11, Dental outreach, Malawi, May 2011

Many other advancements in technology made today enable one to get a pain free session at the dentists. If wondering how to spot a dentist that uses this technology simply ask around or go to website directories that list dentists in your area and the various methods they use. Also in order to get rid of your fear consult with your dentist and inform them that you fear the session and work out plan to have a soothing time at the dentists.

DOE Study Shows Technology Improves Student Performance

Before this summer, middle school teachers who wanted their students to use computers had to reserve one of the school?s desktop computer labs.? With 45 teachers and only two labs, getting a space often required six weeks? lead time, wreaking havoc on curriculum planning and making it a challenge to integrate computers into classroom teaching.

But no longer.? This summer, thanks to designated donations from two Mill Valley families and a matching grant from the Macquarie Group Foundation, Kiddo! was able to provide $75,000 to MVMS for the purchase of four iPad carts with 30 iPads each, plus software and staff training. ?Now each of the three academic ?pods? at the school has a dedicated iPad cart, shared by only 6-7 teachers, and the library has its own iPad cart reserved for research projects.

In addition, once the desktop labs were no longer needed, the school was able to clear out the lab space and distribute the desktop computers to smaller labs within each pod for use on a project basis. This has not only freed up much-needed space for the growing middle school population, but has also created, through the combination of iPads and smaller computer labs closer to classrooms, a nimbler and more flexible technology platform.? In other words, it?s now much easier for teachers to use computers in their daily lessons.

And that?s important.? A recent study by the United States Department of Education documented the numerous benefits that students derive from the use of computers in school.? Most significantly, it found that students with greater amounts of computer access became more motivated and self-confident learners.? The study found that when students are using technology, ?they are in an active role rather than the passive role of recipient of information transmitted by teacher, textbook or broadcast,? and they are able to handle more complex assignments in which they define their own goals, make decisions, and evaluate their progress.? Technology also provides students with opportunities to excel across a broader range of challenges and tasks than those offered in traditional settings, which primarily stress verbal knowledge and multiple choice test performance.

Middle school principal Anna Lazzarini sums it up this way: ?Technology is no longer a bells and whistles item in education.? There are so many ways to use technology to deepen learning, to create hands-on experiences for students, to engage them, and to provide instruction that fits the needs of students in every area of study.?? In the technology-driven world our children must navigate, she adds, it?s critical to ?teach students how to use technology in appropriate ways.?

Middle school teachers are loving it, too.? Each iPad comes pre-loaded with features such as Pages, Keynote, iMovie, and iPhoto that already have proven to be valuable teaching tools.? But individual teachers can also buy apps pertinent to their subject area.? Cari Pompanin, who teaches sixth grade language arts and social studies, can?t wait to use Google Earth to help her students ?literally walk the Earth.?? She?s also planning to use Virtual Roma, which can take students not just to present-day Rome but to Rome at any period in its history.? ?Just think,? she says, ?we can travel to ancient Rome right from our desks!?

Our students deserve the best education we can give them, so that they can realize their full potential and meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.? Improving their access to technology and computers in the classroom is an important piece of that puzzle.? Kiddo! is deeply grateful to all those in our community whose donations and support make that possible.

New French Budget Taxes Rich at 75 percent | TheBlaze.com

New French Budget Taxes Rich at 75 percent

PARIS (AP) ? The French government presented a budget Friday that was heavy on taxes ? including a controversial 75 percent income rate on high earners ? but which critics said lacked fundamental reforms that could jumpstart economic growth.

President Francois Hollande?s cabinet defended the spending plan for next year, calling it a ?fighting budget? that would win the ?battle? against joblessness and help growth.

Like many European countries, France must tread a fine line between cutting the debts that dragged them into the current financial crisis and investing in the economy to spur growth.

The French economy, the second largest among the 17 countries that use the euro, has not grown for three straight quarters, the national statistics agency confirmed Friday. Unemployment has been on the rise for more than a year and stands at 10.2 percent.

Economists warn, however, that things could get much worse in France if it doesn?t get serious about slashing state spending and reforming stringent labor laws.

?This is a serious budget, it?s a leftist budget and it?s fighting budget,? Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici told French radio station Europe-1 Friday morning.

Because Hollande promised that he would slash the country?s deficit to 3 percent next year ? a limit required by European rules ? the government must find (EURO)30 billion in savings. One-third will come in spending cuts, with the rest in new or higher taxes on the wealthy and big companies, including a 75 percent tax on incomes over (EURO)1 million.

Among the other measures included are: a new income tax level at 45 percent for those making more than (EURO)150,000, an increase of capital gains taxes to bring them more in line with how salaries are taxed, and a cap on certain deductions for large companies on their income taxes.

The 75 percent tax will last for two years and has always been billed as a symbolic measure since it will bring in very little revenue. Several businessmen and politicians in the opposition have said that?s exactly what?s wrong with the 2013 budget: It sends the message that France doesn?t like the rich and isn?t open for business.

?France is sick from a model that isn?t viable,? said Guillaume Carou, CEO of Didaxis and president of the Club of Entrepreneurs, which represents 15,000 small businesses. ?But (the government has) chosen to keep it, that?s what the 2013 budget reveals.?

Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault rejected that characterization, however, insisting that the budget would win the battle against unemployment.

?It?s a budget that aims to inspire confidence and to break the debt spiral that keeps growing and growing,? he said after the budget was presented to the Cabinet.

The budget is built around an expectation of 0.8 percent growth for next year. If growth misses the projections, more cuts could be needed later.

Moscovici conceded that most economists predict the French economy will grow just 0.5 percent, but said that if the European debt crisis stabilizes, France would meet its targets.

Earthquake rocks island in Alaska's Aleutian chain

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - A powerful earthquake rocked one of the few inhabited islands in Alaska's Aleutian chain on Wednesday, but no damage has been found, federal and local officials said.

The magnitude 6.9 quake, centered 80 miles southwest of Adak, struck at 3:40 p.m. local time (7.40 p.m. EDT), the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said. No tsunami warning was issued, but scientists will monitor the area for any possible earthquake-related waves, center Director Paul Whitmore said.

In Adak, a community of about 330, "We definitely felt it," City Manager Layton Lockett said.

The building that houses city offices and the local school, engineered to withstand frequent earthquakes that strike the region, performed as designed, Lockett said.

"You could just hear the building move, and things were shaking," he said.

No damage was found, though officials were concerned about the fate of underground pipes, he said. The school, which has about 20 students, was out of session at the time.

California is now the third state to legalize driverless cars. A new law immediately allows testing of the self-driving vehicles on public roads as long as licensed drivers are at the wheel in order to take over if necessary.

Ahmadinejad denounces "uncivilized Zionists," urges new order

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Iran's president said on Wednesday his country was under constant threat of military action from "uncivilized Zionists" and called for a new world order not dominated by Western powers in the service of "the devil."

In his eighth address to the U.N. General Assembly's annual gathering of world leaders, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad painted a gloomy picture of a world driven by greed rather than moral values.

"The current abysmal situation of the world and the bitter incidents of history are due mainly to the wrong management of the world and the self-proclaimed centers of power who have entrusted themselves to the devil," Ahmadinejad said, in what is expected to be his last address to the world body.

There was no reiteration of his comments to journalists in New York on Monday that Israel has no roots in the Middle East and would be "eliminated."

However, in a clear reference to Israel, he told the assembly: "Continued threat by the uncivilized Zionists to resort to military action against our great nation is a clear example of this bitter reality."

On Tuesday, in his address to the General Assembly, U.S. President Barack Obama warned Iran he would do what it takes to prevent it from getting nuclear arms and said there was not an unlimited time to solve the crisis via diplomacy.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is due to speak at the United Nations on Thursday, has hinted Israel could strike Iran's nuclear sites, and has criticized Obama's position that sanctions and diplomacy should be given more time to stop Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

On Wednesday, Netanyahu promised a tough response at the United Nations to Ahmadinejad's verbal attacks, which coincided with the holiday of Yom Kippur, one of the holiest on the Jewish calendar.

"On the question of Iran, we are all united in the goal of preventing Iran from achieving nuclear weaponry," he said in open letter to Israelis before boarding a flight to New York.

"On Yom Kippur eve, sacred to the Jewish people, the Iranian tyrant chose to call publicly before all of the world for us to vanish. This is a black day for those who chose to remain in the auditorium and hear these hateful words," Netanyahu added.

Representatives of the United States, Canada and Israel chose not to be present in the U.N. auditorium for Ahmadinejad's speech on Wednesday.

Israel and the United States have refused to rule out the possibility of an armed strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, which the West suspects aim to produce atomic bombs but which Tehran says are for solely peaceful purposes.

At a news conference later on Wednesday, Ahmadinejad said Iran is "capable of avoiding and neutralizing" efforts to sabotage its nuclear facilities, while repeating that his country is ready for dialogue with the United States.

"We are ready for a dialogue and a resolution of problems. ... We have never had any problems with the people of the United States," he said.

In his U.N. address, without mentioning the United States by name, the Iranian president took aim at Washington's global dominance, asking: "Are we to believe that those who spend hundreds of millions of dollars on election campaigns have the interest of the people of the world at their hearts?"

Ahmadinejad, whose own second and final term in office ends next year, said authority should be used as a sacred gift, "not a chance to amass power and wealth."

'A GREAT AND PROUD NATION'

Iran is under sanctions imposed by the United Nations and Western powers for its refusal to comply with U.N. Security Council demands to halt its nuclear enrichment program.

Ahmadinejad said the 15-nation council, on which the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China all have vetoes, was dominated by "a limited number of governments," preventing the United Nations from acting in a just and equitable way.

Declaring that he represented "a great and proud nation that was a founder of human civilization," Ahmadinejad said: "There is no doubt that the world is in need of a new order and a fresh way of thinking."

He said this should be "a just and fair order in which everybody is equal before the law and in which there is no double standard."

His speech touched on issues he has raised in previous U.N. appearances, such as suggesting there should be an "independent fact-finding team" established to discover the "truth" behind the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States and complaining about the "hegemonic policies and actions of world Zionism."

A spokeswoman for the U.S. mission to the United Nations, Erin Pelton, said the United States decided not to attend the speech given Ahmadinejad's recent comments on Israel and the fact that it was Yom Kippur.

"Over the past couple of days, we've seen Mr. Ahmadinejad once again use his trip to the U.N., not to address the legitimate aspirations of the Iranian people, but to instead spout paranoid theories and repulsive slurs against Israel," Pelton said.

"It's particularly unfortunate that Mr. Ahmadinejad will have the platform of the U.N. General Assembly on Yom Kippur."

European Union states did not walk out, apparently because Ahmadinejad did not cross any of their "red lines."

"Ahmadinejad gave a long, rambling speech," a European diplomat told Reuters on condition of anonymity. "Previously we've walked out because of his anti-Semitism, threats against Israel and 9/11 conspiracies. This year his only crime was incoherence."

Bearing signs reading "Secular Democracy for Iran" and "Khamenei Dictator of Iran Must Go," referring to Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, about a hundred opponents of the Iranian government protested across the street from the United Nations as Ahmadinejad spoke.

Separately, U.N. diplomats and nuclear experts said Iran appears to be making headway in building a research reactor that could yield potential nuclear weapons material, adding to growing Western concerns about Tehran's atomic aims.

Is Mick Foley right about CM Punk?

Many members of the WWE Universe already asked themselves this question, but only when Mick Foley pressed the issue on Raw did it really cut right to the WWE Champion's core:

What happened to CM Punk?

The Hardcore Legend unleashed the most scathing critique of Punk yet, exposing what ? in Foley's mind ? has been a disturbing transformation for the WWE Champion (VIDEO). Just more than a year ago, the self-proclaimed ?Voice of the Voiceless? kept millions of WWE fans hanging on his every word as he railed against what he perceived to be injustices in WWE. As Foley proclaimed on Raw, Punk's movement stood out as something special.

Yet Foley pointed out that the Punk of today feels like a vastly different individual, someone who bullies WWE referees, accepts victories regardless of whether they feel cheap, and all the while demands respect from anyone and everybody that crosses his path. With Paul Heyman firmly in his ear, The Straight Edge Superstar has shown no reverence for his greatest opponents or the WWE icons who have paved the way for him, such as Foley and Bret "Hit Man" Hart (VIDEO). The Punk that cares about the silent majority has appeared to become the Punk who only cares about himself.

Foley urged The Second City Savior to reverse his course, to stop listening to Heyman and to go back to the bastion of change reminiscent of the "Summer of Punk." But it isn't as simple as The Hardcore Legend makes it seem. It's quite possible that this is the real CM Punk we're seeing now, and before he was just putting on a fa?ade in order to get what he desperately wanted: the fame, the attention and the spotlight that instead went to Superstars like Cena and The Rock. Now that he's on top of the world as WWE Champion, perhaps Punk has a different perspective on matters.

Then again, maybe this is all just part of Heyman's devious bidding as he tries to assert complete control over The Straight Edge Superstar. The 2011 version of Punk surely wouldn't have called members of the WWE Universe "jerks" and then later attacked Foley like he did on Monday night (VIDEO). Is Punk's recent string of controversial actions just an extension of the original ECW founder's influence?

Despite Foley's pleading, Punk chose not to accept Cena's challenge to a match at Hell in a Cell, and wound up with a lead pipe to his stomach from the injured Cenation leader. The old CM Punk never backed down from a battle, but this Punk is seemingly more concerned with counting the days of his WWE Championship reign than he is about actually defending his title.

Judging by what we saw from Punk as Raw came to a close, maybe Foley was right about him after all. (POLL: DO YOU AGREE WITH FOLEY? | EXCLUSIVE: FOLEY COMMENTS ON PUNK'S ACTIONS)

Mogamo to pursue its passion - The Nation

Asina Pornwasin
The Nation September 25, 2012 1:00 am

Set up eight years ago with the passion to develop its own mobile games, local software company Mobile Game Motion (Mogamo) is planning to expand its business capability from game-dealer to developer and owner of social games on the Android Platform.

Mogamo managing director Ekkanit Chansawang said that this year the company plans to expand its business from only mobile-game dealing in the Thai market to mobile payments, mobile advertising and mobile social game service. The move is aimed at helping the firm have more sources of revenue and to tap the high potential for growth in mobile games, mobile applications, and mobile services.

Ekkanit added that the rapidly increasing number of smart-phone users is opening up room for local software firms and making it easier to tap into this market.

Mogamo sees huge opportunities in this growth market, hence the company this year plans to launch three new services. First is mobile payment under 'Moga Pay'. This service offers mobile payment service with two models -micro-transaction payment involving small amounts up to Bt100, and cash card with payment values of Bt100, Bt300, Bt500, and Bt1,000.

"We had a soft launch since early this year and we plan to officially launch this service in July [next year]," said Ekkanit.

Target-clients of this service include Android game apps, Internet services such as Web content, and multimedia services such as video-streaming services.

"They can use our payment service to offer in-app purchase," said Ekkanit.

The second new service is mobile advertising, which is designed to serve as app advertising, called "Moga Deal". In this service, Mogamo will work with mobile app service providers as partners to offer advertising along with the applications to reach end-users who use those applications.

Currently, he said Mogamo has about four to five app partners who together have a total of 1 million end-users and banner impressions around 30 million times per day.

"This service is set to launch in August. We also plan to recruit more local advertisers to use our mobile adverting services. We have developed our own algorithm to offer advertisers the cost-per-installation model. We also plan to increase app partners to reach 20 to 30 app service providers, using our Moga Deal by the end of this year," said Ekkanit.

The other new service is the mobile-social-game platform, which the company has developed and offered for half a year for feature phones. Currently, it has 40,000 members. It aims to have 100,000 members by the end of this year.

"Mobile social games for the feature-phone market is still a huge market as most of the 80 million mobile-phone units are feature phones. In the near future, we will develop a mobile-social-game platform for smart phones when smart phones become a majority," said Ekkanit.

He added that this year, Mogamo estimates revenue of between Bt50 million and Bt60 million, which comes from four services. Revenue from its existing service alone - mobile game dealer - will make up 60 per cent of this year's total revenue, while 40 per cent will come from the three new services. The new services are expected to account for 70 per cent of total revenue by next year.

"Our passion is to have our own mobile game. We started this business with our own game but we had to stop as it did not work. Since then we have become a game dealer, selling games rather than developing our own games. Now, it is time to follow our passion. We have decided to develop and offer the mobile social game platform in August based on the freemium model," said Ekkanit.

He added that this year, it will launch two mobile social games - 'Super Star Manager' scheduled to launch in August, and another one to be launched later.

He said the mobile platform is the emerging market for software developers. The market will grow rapidly through the next five years.

Foolproof security arrangements for medical entry test | Pakistan ...

RAWALPINDI?-?Foolproof security arrangements have been made for the medical entry test to be held on Sunday.

The centers for the medical entry test had been established in Govt. Post Graduate College for Women Satellite Town, Govt. College for Boys Satellite Town, Siddique Public School 6th Road and Ideal Cambridge School 6th Road.

Walkthrough gates would be installed on the entry gates of each centre. Waiting halls had been established in each center for the people who would accompany the candidates, while proper drinking water facilities and sitting arrangements would be ensured for the visitors.

According to a city district government spokesman, all arrangements in this regard had already been finalized.

SSP Operation informed that the required police officials would be deployed for the security arrangements in all the centers and a comprehensive security plan had also been prepared in this connection. All roads adjoining the areas where the entry tests would be conducted would be blocked for all kinds of traffic and no vehicular traffic would be allowed to pass on these roads including the vehicles of the students and their attendants for security reasons. Special information counters would be established in each examination center where the students would be guided about their roll numbers and the seating arrangement within the center. Besides, a shuttle service would be provided to the students and their attendants to reach their respective examination centers on time.

Earlier, the Rawalpindi Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal had also directed the departments concerned that power generators should also be arranged for the four centers of Rawalpindi city and for the entry test center of Cadet College Hasanabadal. On the direction of the commissioner, CCTV cameras and mobile jammers had also been installed at all centers so that the entry test could be held in a transparent and peaceful way.

According to a City District Government (CDG) spokesman, the candidates from the Rawalpindi region, Chakwal and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) would appear for the entry test in the examination centers of Rawalpindi.

He said that no candidate would be allowed to take mobile phones, hand bags or any other additional items into the examination centers.

In addition, no other person would be allowed to enter in the center, except the candidates with the roll number slips.

The City Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah informed that special arrangements had been made in this connection. He said the traffic police officials would be deployed to regulate the traffic on the routes of the entry test centers so the candidates could reach their centers without inconvenience.

Obama argues against Romney's "top-down economics"

MILWAUKEE (AP) ? President Barack Obama worked to squash GOP hopes for a resurgence of support in pivotal Wisconsin on Saturday, pushing back against his GOP rival's arguments against an overly intrusive government. Mitt Romney took precious time away from campaigning in the battleground states to troll for cash in California and kept up his criticism of the president for fostering a culture of dependency.

Obama faulted Romney for advancing a top-down economic approach that "never works."

"The country doesn't succeed when only the folks at the very top are doing well," he said. "We succeed when the middle class is doing well."

With just six weekends left before Election Day, both candidates were devoting considerable time to raising cash to continue bankrolling the deluge of ads already saturating hotly contested states.

Baseball great Hank Aaron supplied the star power at Obama's Milwaukee fundraisers.

"As one who wore the number 44 on his back for decades, I ask you to join me in helping the 44th president of the United States hit a grand slam," said Aaron.

Romney, who is expected to launch a more aggressive campaign schedule in the coming week, hunted for West Coast cash, if not votes, at a private fundraiser near San Diego and headed for another in Los Angeles. Some Republicans have grumbled that he's not spending enough time with voters in swing states, and Romney seemed to take note of that sentiment.

"I've got good news: This is the last fundraiser in San Diego," Romney told supporters. "I'm not even going to be able to go home today. We're just coming to town to see you and keep the campaign going. It's nonstop."

Romney adviser Kevin Madden said the GOP nominee would begin "a really intense battleground state schedule." The former Massachusetts governor will campaign in Colorado, Ohio and Virginia in the coming week.

With running mates Joe Biden and Paul Ryan campaigning in New England and Florida, respectively, the presidential campaign was spread far and wide ? both geographically and strategically. Biden revved up union activists poised to canvass for votes in New Hampshire while Ryan appealed to Hispanic voters in Miami and talked space policy in Orlando.

It was Obama's first visit to Wisconsin since February, and the president was intent on shoring up support in Ryan's home state. Obama's politicking included an unscheduled stop at a local deli, where he tried out some bratwurst in a pretzel roll with spicy mustard ? and managed to chat up a few patrons from Ohio, another crucial state.

Obama won Wisconsin easily in 2008 but Ryan is popular here and recent polls have Obama up by single digits. The GOP showed its organizational strength in fending off efforts to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker, but Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said Democrats "continue to have a strategic advantage," with more field offices and political infrastructure in the state.

With absentee voting already under way in the state, first lady Michelle Obama will campaigning there next week.

Obama made the case against Romney before a crowd at the Milwaukee Theater, countering Romney's call to change Washington from the inside with an appeal to voters to help him break through partisan gridlock with pressure on Congress from the outside. He said that despite economic troubles, his administration has made progress and has made "practical and specific" proposals to create jobs.

"The choice now is do we reverse this," he said.

Romney, at his fundraiser near San Diego, said Obama was "taking Americans on a course that is extremely foreign to us."

"One would suggest that government knows better than free people," he said. "It's a pathway to become like Europe, and Europe doesn't work there. It's never going to work here. It's even possible we could be on a pathway to become California -- I don't want that either."

In advance of Obama's visit, Romney's campaign made the argument that Obama's failure to turn around the economy had Wisconsin voters looking for a different path. Walker said the president had a "Wisconsin problem." The state's 7.5 percent unemployment rate is below the national average, but its manufacturing industry has been hit hard in recent years.

The Republican National Committee released a web video, "Since You've Been Gone," highlighting recent GOP organizing efforts in the state and Walker's success in fending off recall.

Messina saw good signs all over, saying, "We're either tied or in the lead in every battleground state 45 days out. I think you will see a tightening in the national polls going forward."

Ryan, campaigning in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood, reinforced Romney's argument that Obama hasn't been able to make needed changes in Washington, poking at the president's recent comment that it's hard to change Washington from the inside without mobilizing public pressure on Congress from the outside.

"Why do we send presidents to the White House in the first place?" Ryan asked. "We send presidents to change and fix the mess in Washington, and if this president has admitted that he can't change Washington, then you know what? We need to change presidents."

He also faulted Obama for a "policy of appeasement" toward the Castro regime in Cuba, saying all the president had done was "reward more despotism."

Obama has eased restrictions to allow Americans to travel to Cuba and to let Cuban-Americans to send money to family on the island. But the president has stopped well-short of discussing lifting the 50-year-old economic embargo, which is widely viewed in Latin America as a failure and has complicated U.S. relationships in the region.

Campaign spokeswoman Jenn Psaki said the president had supported democracy movements on the island and worked to give people there more say in their futures.

In an appearance in Orlando, not far from Florida's space coast, Ryan criticized the president for putting the U.S. space program "on a path where we are conceding our global position as the unequivocal leader in space." The Obama campaign responded that Ryan has proposed deep cuts in spending for space exploration.

Underscoring the importance of grass-roots efforts in the campaign's final days, Biden rallied union workers at a Teamsters union hall in Manchester, N.H., saying their organizing work would be the "antidote" to millions spent on advertising by Republican-leaning super PACs.

Biden said it was because of unions that the U.S. has a strong middle class, and he accused Romney and Ryan of having "a completely different value set, a completely different vision."

"They're doubling down on everything that caused the economic crisis in the first place," he said.

The GOP nominee is feeling fundraising pressure: Last month, for the first time in four months, Obama and the Democratic Party raised more than Romney and the Republican Party, $114 million to $111.6 million.
